"My client never hit a woman in his life," Atty. Cyrus Nownejad
LOS ANGELES, Oct. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Recently released security footage of an unprovoked attack on Girls Gone Wild CEO Joe Francis by Playboy Playmate Jayde Nicole in a Hollywood nightclub proves that Francis's account of the events is accurate.
According to Francis's Beverly Hills attorney Cyrus Nownejad of the Law Offices of Cyrus and Cyrus, PLC, the footage clearly shows Nicole instigating the incident, waiting to hit Francis in the back of the head and then pour her drink down his back, thereby committing two counts of battery on Francis. At no point is Francis seen punching or kicking Nicole, contrary to her public statements about the incident.
The tape doesn't contain audio, says Nownejad, "So you can't hear Jayde screaming, 'I'm going to kill you!' to Francis. My client grabbed Nicole's hair in self-defense to restrain her from further assaults against him and to protect himself against her horrendous threat. My client was clearly acting reasonably under the circumstances, as he had just been battered twice and threatened to be killed. He merely restrained Ms. Nicole and then left the scene. In other video footage, Nicole admits to hitting Francis first and dumping a drink on him. Subsequently, Nicole's boyfriend, Brody Jenner, rushed an unsuspecting Francis and cold-cocked him in the head, knocking him to the ground. Francis has photographic evidence of his injuries. Jenner was then tasered and restrained by club security and pulled away from Francis."
According to Nownejad, the defamatory statement from Nicole claiming that she was beaten and hit in the face and body by Francis is clearly shown to be false by the video, proving that none of her alleged injuries could have been caused by Francis. Nevertheless, Nicole filed a one million dollar lawsuit against Francis.
"My client never hit a woman in his life," says Nownejad. "Because of Nicole and Jenner's defamatory statements to the media, Francis lost a business deal worth at least $20 million. Accordingly, Francis intends to file a $20 million countersuit against both Nicole and Jenner for assault, battery and defamation next week. My client is determined to vigorously defend himself against frivolous lawsuits and send a message to those who would attempt to gain fame and get rich through such obvious shakedowns." Nownejad says that Francis intends to donate any proceeds from his lawsuit in excess of recouping his business losses to a charity supporting real victims of violence against women.

Judge delays Chris Brown's sentencing
Chris Brown was in court to be formally sentenced for assaulting his ex-girlfriend Rihanna back in February. When he arrived, however, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Patricia Schnegg postponed the sentencing until August 27.
Documents outlining his plan to complete community service in his home state of Virginia hadn't arrived in time for the court's approval. Brown pleaded guilty in June and was given five years probation and 180 days of labor oriented community service. He'll also be required to complete one year of domestic violence classes.
